Beginner Standup Comedy Class
For beginning students who want to try standup in a supportive (virtual) environment! VCC offers this online drop-in workshop weekly, to help you hone and polish your standup act (so you’ll have a killer set to bring to the open mic when we’re allowed to gather in public again!). You bring 3-6 minutes of jokes, stories, etc. to share with the group, and your instructor (VCC co-owner Nathan Hartswick) offers encouragement and supportive, pointed feedback on how to improve your set. No minimum requirement; attend any week you are able!
Note: this is not a cumulative class, and does not end in a class performance. This is an ongoing drop-in, to assist new comedians in the creation and improvement of their material.

If you are interested in participating in this drop-in, fill out the “pre-registration” form below, NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Each week, you will receive an email the day of the workshop with a link to sign up for that evening’s session. Spots are limited and this is a first-come, first-served process (just like an open mic), so there’s no guarantee you will get in.
